Emma Raducanu concludes this year's campaign and has decided to continue with her coach for 2026.
The British player reached the third round in three out of four major tournaments during the season.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments of the year as a result of a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.
Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.
These plans will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating again next season.
She required blood pressure checks in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.
Her movement was with clear difficulty in the final set against Zhu due to back discomfort that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.
Those results meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.
She held three match points then was defeated by Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.
She secured 28 victories during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.
Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament then falling in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.
She was coached by Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.
The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.
The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.
She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.
Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
