Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The three contenders were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.

This year's winner will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be televised from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this honour is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
